HCG must also be injected under the guidance of a nurse or physician and therefore requires a visit to the specialist which also drives up the cost and increases the inconvenience of the medication.

All fertility medications increase the risk of multiple births. Fertility drugs are to be used carefully. Monitoring the hormone tests, blood tests and the ultrasound measurements properly are extremely important. If you have too many fetuses it would increase the chances of pre-mature labor. Pre-mature babies are more vulnerable to illnesses and other developmental problems.
